Chris Garner | Senior Pastor
Pastor Chris came to Gillespie Avenue in June of 2016. Prior to his time here, he served as a pastoral intern at First Baptist Church in Powell, TN. Before that, Pastor Chris was a pastoral apprentice at Ninth and O Baptist Church in Louisville, KY and a student at Boyce College, the undergraduate school at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He is continuing his education by pursuing his MDiv from Southern Seminary. Chris is married to Lauren and they have two children, Benjamin and Stella. Chris enjoys all the Disney things, CS Lewis, and the music of Humble Beast artists, Sovereign Grace, and Keith and Kristyn Getty.
Ginger Sharp | Music Minister
Ginger came to Gillespie Avenue in 1984 when called as Youth Director. While serving as Youth Director she met and married the love of her life, Stan, who worked with her as a member of the Youth Committee. She has served in many roles while at Gillespie including pianist, Children's Choir Director, Discipleship Training Teacher, Women's Bible Study facilitator and her current position as Director of Music. Ginger prays daily to have a servant's heart and longs to be more like Jesus. Stan and Ginger have 3 children, Isaac (Katie), Jordan, and Jillian who all asked Jesus into their hearts while at Gillespie Avenue.
Robbin Majors | Secretary
Robbin began working as part-time secretary at Gillespie Avenue over two years ago. She has been a member of Gillespie since the early 80’s when she started attending VBS with her neighborhood friends. Robbin lives in the Gibbs community with her husband and three beautiful girls, Tarryn, Camryn and Madelyn. Robbin enjoys camping, reading and spending time with her family.
Scott Warwick | Custodian + Multimedia Presentations
Scott has been a lifetime member at Gillespie Ave. Baptist Church. Growing up at Gillespie he was an active member of the youth group and youth choir. He has also served as a Sunday School teacher for the 4-6 grades, youth leader and choir member. He currently is employed with the City of Knoxville Fire Department as a Fire Officer and Paramedic. Scott has served with the city for 26 years. Scott enjoys southern gospel music, especially gospel quartets. His favorite hobby is photography.
